Yassir Salas
Introduction
Asalamu Alalikum, my name is Yassir Salas and I am an information security specialist. It has been my pleasure to be an active member of this community for several years.
Summary
I have recently served on the board of the Islamic Center of New Mexico as the general secretary. As general secretary, I updated and stream lined the membership database. This had not been done in years. While previously working on the board, I demonstrated an ability to adapt quickly to any given situation and dedicated the appropriate time to fulfilling the requirements of the position. I also have experience working with the web administrator to provide web accounts for the community members as well as update the website. I have used my expertise as an information security analyst to test the integrity of the website and ensure that the information on it is secure. I have made every effort to address the concerns brought up by the community, answer emails, and resolve conflicts with an impartial attitude.
Future Plans
If our community does me the honor of reelecting me to this position, I plan to automate some of the financial processing that takes place and better integrate that information with the membership database. With my background in information security, I have the skills and knowledge to ensure that every member’s financial information is secure and can be kept totally private and free from compromise. I would also like to work with website administrator to enrich the overall functionality of the ICNM website. This will, inshallah, help bring our wonderful community closer together.
